BABT (Binance Account Bound Token) is a soulbound token (SBT) launched by Binance — essentially a non-transferable identity credential proving you've completed Binance's KYC verification.
Getting BABT requires a Binance account with completed KYC. Sign up for Binance to create your account. We recommend downloading the Binance app to complete identity verification.
What Is a Soulbound Token
A soulbound token (SBT) is a special type of NFT permanently bound to your wallet address that cannot be transferred, sold, or traded. It functions like an on-chain ID card or certificate.
BABT is such a token — it proves the holder's wallet is associated with a real identity that passed Binance's KYC verification.
What Is BABT Used For
Identity verification: Some DeFi projects and on-chain activities require participants to have KYC verification. Holding BABT proves your identity on-chain without repeating KYC.
Exclusive activity access: Certain airdrops and whitelist activities may require BABT as an eligibility condition.
Anti-Sybil protection: Projects can check for BABT to ensure each participant is a verified real user, rather than the same person using multiple wallets.
How to Get BABT
Step 1: Ensure your Binance account has completed KYC verification.
Step 2: Find the BABT minting page in the Binance app or web (usually under additional services or the Web3 section).
Step 3: Connect your Web3 wallet (Binance Web3 Wallet, MetaMask, etc.).
Step 4: Pay a small amount of BNB as the on-chain minting gas fee (minted on BNB Chain).
Step 5: Confirm the mint, and BABT will appear in your wallet.
Cost
Minting BABT requires a small BNB gas fee, typically less than $1. This is the inherent cost of on-chain operations.
Important Notes
Each Binance account can only mint one BABT. BABT cannot be transferred or sold. If you change wallet addresses, you need to revoke the original BABT and mint a new one.
BABT is issued on BNB Chain, so your wallet needs to be on the BNB Chain network to see it.
If you're active in the Web3 ecosystem, BABT is a worthwhile identity credential to hold, as more new projects will increasingly use it as an entry requirement.
