How to Change Your Binance Linked Phone Number and Email

Published on 2026-03-17 | 7 min

Step-by-step guide to changing your linked phone number and email on Binance, plus important security notes.

Got a new phone number or want to change your linked email? You can do this on Binance, though for account security, the process is stricter than on typical websites.

You need to be logged in to your Binance account. If you don't have one, sign up for Binance. Changes can be made on both the Binance app and website.

Changing Your Phone Number

In the Binance app, go to "Profile" > "Security" > "Phone Verification." If your current phone can still receive SMS, the process is straightforward:

  1. Tap "Change Phone Number"
  2. Verify with a code sent to your current phone
  3. Also enter email verification code and Google Authenticator code (if bound)
  4. Enter your new phone number and verify with a code sent to it
  5. Change complete

If your old phone number is no longer accessible (e.g., canceled), you'll need to verify identity through alternative means. Contact Binance support or find the "Can't receive verification code" option in security settings. The system will guide you through facial recognition and document verification before you can bind a new number.

Changing Your Email

The process is similar to changing your phone number. In "Security" settings, find "Email Verification" and tap change. Multi-factor verification through your current email, phone, and Google Authenticator is required before you can set a new email.

If the old email is inaccessible, the same identity verification process through support applies.

Security Restrictions

After changing your linked phone or email, Binance restricts withdrawals for 24 hours. This is a safety measure — in case someone is manipulating your account bindings, the 24-hour buffer protects your funds.

During this 24-hour period, other account functions (deposits, trading, earn, etc.) work normally — only withdrawals and P2P selling are restricted.

Bind Multiple Verification Methods

The safest approach is binding all three verification methods simultaneously: phone, email, and Google Authenticator. If one fails (like losing your phone number), the other two can still verify your identity for security operations.

If you currently only have one verification method bound, we strongly recommend adding the others promptly in your "Security" settings.

FAQ

Q: Can I change phone and email at the same time? A: Yes, but it's recommended to do them separately. Change one first, wait for the 24-hour restriction to lift, then change the other. Simultaneous changes may trigger stricter security reviews.

Q: After changing my phone number, do I need to re-bind Google Authenticator? A: No. Google Authenticator and phone number are independent — changing your number doesn't affect the authenticator. But if you switch to a new phone (device), you'll need to migrate the authenticator to the new phone.
