Can You Delete a Binance Account? How Does It Work?

Published on 2026-03-14 | 7 min

Learn the conditions, process, and important considerations for deleting a Binance account.

Some people register for Binance and later decide they don't want to use it anymore, or want to start fresh with a new account. Binance does support account deletion, but there are things you should know before proceeding. If you delete and later want to use Binance again, you can sign up for Binance to create a new account. On mobile, download the Binance app.

Prerequisites for Deletion

Binance doesn't allow casual account deletion — you need to meet several conditions first.

First, zero balance. All token balances must be cleared, including spot, futures, earn, and Web3 wallet. Withdraw or sell everything first.

Second, no pending orders. All open orders, DCA plans, locked earn products, etc. must be canceled or matured.

Third, no pending security changes. If you've recently changed your password or security settings, you may need to wait through a cooling period.

Fourth, no open P2P ads. If you're a P2P merchant, close all ads and complete all in-progress orders.

Deletion Process

After meeting all conditions, go to your profile in the Binance app, find "Security Settings" or "Account Management." At the bottom, you'll see a "Delete Account" option.

After tapping, the system guides you through confirmation steps including security verification (password, Google Authenticator, email codes) and reading the deletion agreement.

After submitting, there's a cooling period of typically a few days. During this time, you can cancel the deletion. After the cooling period, the account is permanently deleted.

What Happens After Deletion

After deletion, your personal info, trading records, and KYC data are handled per Binance's data retention policies. For compliance, some data may be retained for a certain period.

After deletion, your email and phone number can typically be used to register a new Binance account. Note that the same ID document's KYC info may have associations — check with support for specifics.

Deletion is irreversible. All trading records, points, VIP status, etc. are permanently lost. If you might use Binance again in the future, don't delete lightly.

Can You Just Leave It Inactive Instead

Absolutely. Binance doesn't charge fees or penalize inactive accounts. If you're just taking a break, simply withdraw your assets and leave the account alone. When you want to use it again, everything is still there.

This is more flexible than deletion because your KYC verification, VIP level, and trading history all remain intact.

Do You Need to Delete to Change Email or Phone

No. Binance supports changing linked email and phone number. Just go to security settings — no need to delete and start over.

Summary

Binance accounts can be deleted, provided you clear all assets and complete all orders. Deletion is irreversible. If you're just taking a break, keeping the account is more flexible than deleting. Always double-check that no assets are left behind before proceeding.
