What Is Binance Multi-Asset Mode and How to Enable It

Understanding Binance futures Multi-Asset Mode — its benefits and how to activate it.

What Is Multi-Asset Mode?

Binance Multi-Asset Mode allows you to use multiple assets as margin in USDT-M futures, not just USDT. With it enabled, your BTC, ETH, BNB, etc. all count toward your margin at certain haircut rates.

Register on Binance and enable futures to use this feature.

Benefits

1. Higher Capital Efficiency

With 2 BTC and 10,000 USDT, normal mode only uses the USDT as margin. Multi-asset mode counts both, significantly increasing your available margin.

2. Fewer Unnecessary Conversions

No need to convert everything to USDT first — use what you hold.

3. Keep Holding Assets You Believe In

Hold BTC while using its value as futures margin.

Supported Assets and Haircuts

  • USDT/USDC: 100% (no haircut)
  • BTC: ~95%
  • ETH: ~90%
  • Others: 80-90%

How to Enable

In the Binance app: Futures page > Settings (gear icon) > Multi-Asset Mode > toggle on. You must have no open positions or orders to switch.

Risk Considerations

Since margin includes volatile assets, your collateral value can shrink during market drops, potentially triggering liquidation faster. Keep at least 50% of margin in USDT, and always use stop-losses.
